Mental Health Counselor · Morgantown, WV
About Richard Renquest
Although I have experience working with all age groups, I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults. I have recently expanded into the Medicare space as LPCs are now entitled to do so. My special professional interests include depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic disease (diabetes), human performance and human endurance. I am an avid cyclist (mountain and road) and endurance athlete. I use a non-judgmental, cognitive behavioral approach to therapy while incorporating past and present training based on the needs of the individual client.
For more than 35 years, I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in a variety of capacities. I have been licensed as an LPC since 1997 and I am credentialed to provide supervision for prospective LPCs. The one constant over the years has been the fact that it requires courage for people to seek out help to make a change.
While much of my training and experience has focused on children, adolescents, and young adults, I’ve found that most of these concepts apply to all age groups. Building relationships with others is enjoyable to me and I enjoy teaching and learning with my clients. I believe relationships are imperative to lasting change.
